Scholarship Program for Amber Valley
Amber Valley Residential School is a high quality co-educational school in the coffee lands of Karnataka. It commenced its first academic year in July 2004. It aims to provide contemporary and relevant education.
We appreciate your interest and encourage you to review the following information on this program.
Preamble
The Café Coffee Day Young Achievers Scholarship Program will awards 15 scholarships in the academic year of 2006-2007. It aims to encourage parents to have access to contemporary quality education for their child and to provide the opportunity to promising students to broaden their vision and further improve and excel.
Café Coffee Day Young Achievers Scholarship Program is:
- Aligned to the Amber Valley vision of providing Quality Education to All
- For study at Amber Valley Residential School for students in Grades 6 th, 7 th and 8 th
- For students demonstrating excellent English Language, Mathematical ability and General Awareness
- A Scholarship which awards partial or dull scholarships up to Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum for 3 years of study at Amber Valley Residential School
For Indian residents only who would study at Amber Valley Residential School.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students applying for admission to 6 th, 7 th and 8 th grades
- Students demonstrating excellent English Language capability (comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, fluency and expression in written and spoken language),
- Students who demonstrate proficiency in Mathematical
- Students who demonstrate a high level of General Awareness
Administration of the Program
Applications for the Café Coffee day young Achievers Scholarship Program awards to be accompanied by
- Photostat copies of the last three years’ academic reports
- Photostat copies of the co-curricular achievements in the past three years (related to demonstration of English Language skills)
- Photostat copies of other extra-curricular achievements
- Photostat copies of birth certificate
- 2 photographs of the student
2 references from teachers mentioning the achievement levels of the child in their respective areas
Deadline for application and other relevant dates
Application must be completed and submitted at the Amber Valley Residential School, Chikmangalur address below by the 31 st March, 2005.
Application forms are available at select cafes in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. You can also download the form from www.coffeeday.com
- Tests will be conducted at selected Café Coffee Day outlets on the 10 th of April 2006
- The candidates for the final selection of the award will be intimated before 21 st April 2006 by telephone (please give correct, accessible phone numbers)
The award function will be in the city where the exam was conducted between the 21 st of April 2006 and the 25 th of April 2006 (please enquire at the Café outlets for dates)
Selection Criteria
The Café Coffee Day Young Achievers Scholarship Program Awardees are selected using the following criteria:
- Performance in the competitive selection process at the Amber Valley Residential School. We will asses English Language capability (comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, fluency and expression in written and spoken language), Proficiency in Math (Number Sense, Estimation and Measurement, Algebra, Geometry, Data Analysis, Probability nad Problem Solving) and General Awareness.
- Personal interview with the student
- Past records submitted as shown in the administration of the program
Terms of the Scholarship
- The award is for a three year study at Amber Valley Residential School
- The award will be reviewed annually assessing the academic progress and conduct of the awardees at school
- Scholarship awarded could be full or partial up to Rs. 1,00,000/-
- Scholarship for the period granted covers annual tuition fees and boarding and food expenses
AVRS expects the CCD Young Achievers Scholarship Program Awardees to complete their schooling at Amber Valley Residential School and to pass out of the 12 th grade with flying colors.
