The 45-acre AVRS campus on the outskirts of Chikmagalur town in Karnataka, India, is located in a virgin land and posses a large basket of pleasant surprises. Chikmagalur is considered to be the place of origin and early reign of the Hoysala dynasty, which played a key role in the history of South India. The town was also a center of learning in the olden days and has a rich culture and history. The students at AVRS are exposed to a more holistic learning environment as a result of its location.
The town is situated in a fertile valley at the base of the Western Ghats and enjoys a salubrious climate throughout the year. The hills and greenery of the land make Chikmagalur a non-polluted town with almost no allergy related health problems.
Chikmagalur is a quiet town, and the climate and landscape make it India's premier Coffee Plantation district.
The hills surrounding Chikmagalur are ideal for trekking and establishing oneness with the abundant richness of nature. They are also home to ruins of ancient civilizations and caves to intrigue intrepid nature lovers. It is possible to see the Baba Budan Peak (named after the Baba Budan, who brought in the first seven coffee seeds into India and planted them here) through the Telescope mounted at the top of the AVRS Academic block.
