The 45-acre AVRS campus on the outskirts of Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India is considered to be the place of origin and early reign of the Hoysala dynasty, which played a key role in the history of South India. It was also a center of learning in the olden days and has a rich culture and history. The students at AVRS are exposed to a more holistic learning environment as a result of its location.
The town is situated in a fertile valley at the base of the Western Ghats and enjoys a salubrious climate throughout the year and makes it India's premier Coffee Plantation district. The hills and greenery of the land make Chikmagalur a non-polluted town with almost no allergy related health problems.
The hills surrounding Chikmagalur are ideal for trekking and establishing oneness with the abundant richness of nature. They are also home to ruins of ancient civilizations and caves to intrigue intrepid nature lovers. It is possible to see the Baba Budan Peak (named after the Baba Budan, who brought in the first seven coffee seeds into India and planted them here) through the Telescope mounted at the top of the AVRS Academic block.
Chikmagalur is a scenic haven - away from the hustle and pollution of the city, and just a 4 ½ -hour drive from Bangalore.
