MUSIC
Music is the soul of life, and Music classes are part of the curriculum at AVRS. Both Western Music and Indian Classical Music are taught.

The Music block comprises two separate "acoustically designed" Music rooms with individual space for personalized instruction.

Popular Bhajans, regional music, folk songs and familiar tunes are taught in the classical music classes to cultivate interest in music. Songs learnt in these classes are sung during assemblies. Students are also given the opportunity to learn either Vocal music or instruments like the Violin, Mridangam (a percussion instrument - the South Indian equivalent of the Tabla), Harmonium, Flute and Mochina (a string instrument) during their Individual music classes conducted before and after school hours.

The Western music classes teach English songs and secular music. The Western music section has a selection of Guitars and Keyboards. The students can opt for any one of these instruments too for their individual music lessons. Students are taught to read Sheet music and music notation during the Western Music Classes.
